Hallmark picks up Disney package for Lat-Am

Hallmark Channel Latin America has obtained the exclusive cable television rights to air several Walt Disney feature films in Latin American territories.

The deal is the first programming acquisition under the newly appointed svp of programming for Hallmark Channel's international edition, Kirstine Layfield.

The package includes the Oscar-winning title The Color of Money, starring Paul Newman.

Other titles include: Cocktail; Deceived; The Doctor; Down And Out In Beverly; Good Morning Vietnam; Medicine Man; Pretty Woman; Sister Act and Sister Act II; Three Men And A Little Lady; Feast Of July; Gone Fishin'; A Simple Twist Of Fate and Unstrung Heroes.

Last month, it also acquired a number of high-profile dramas for several territories, including Judging Amy and City of Angels (Spain and Portugal); Promised Land (Israel, Russia, the Middle East and Australia); Touched By an Angel (Asia) and Brooklyn South (Spain, Portugal, Israel, the Middle East and Asia).
